Why Metal Recycling Is Environmentally Friendly.

Minimize Your Environmental Footprint With Metal Recycling.

Metal recycling is something we should all be doing to minimize our carbon footprint. Manufacturers can reuse specific types of metal by melting them down and molding them into new products. Aluminum, copper, and steel are all metals that most communities easily recycle. Here are the environmental benefits of recycling metal:

  • Emissions: Melting down and reshaping metal produces less greenhouse gas than creating products from virgin ore. Reusing existing metals improves our air quality and lessens our impact on climate change.
  • Water: Choosing scrap metal for new products uses 40% less water than creating that same product from virgin ore.
  • Energy Consumption: It requires less energy to produce a product from scrap metal than from virgin ore. Studies show that by recycling one aluminum can, you can save enough energy to power a 60 watt light bulb for four hours.

Why Else Should I Recycle Metal?

Recycling is good for the environment, but did you know that it is also good for your community? People are required to recycle any product. The work is labor intensive and requires real people to do real work. Recycling centers provide job opportunities from management to laborers and for wide skill sets. When you recycle metals, they’re not going into our landfills. This saves space for the items that cannot be used again.

Our Scrap Metal Program Has You Covered.

At Happy Little Dumpsters, we care about where recyclables end up. If you’ve got a garage, barn, or out-building full of metal, let us know. We’ll send you a dumpster at no charge, pick it up when it’s full, and take the metal to a recycling facility for processing. We make it easy and convenient to do the right thing with your metals.
